Liverpool Boot Housing Estate : Lib- Dem Fiasco (6).

Updated: Nov 5, 2021

Once again there were major delays due to the mishandling of the redevelopment proposals by the Lib-Dem Council, eight years after their decision to demolish the estate in 1999 and five years after Councillor Richard Kemp had beeen forced by residents to resign.

New dwellings in Phase 1 due to be ready in August 2006 would not be ready to let until March 2007 and left residents demanding that the Boot redevelopment be given the same priority as city centre projects.

In a further attempt to avoid their responsibilities, the Lib-Dems included the Boot Estate in its Stock Transfer proposals.
